Office App
Effective 28 August 2026 · Last updated 28 August 2026 · Android package office.app
In short
- Your documents stay on your phone. Office App has no server, no account system, and never uploads the files you open, scan, or create.
- We collect nothing about you. No sign-in, no advertising, no tracking, no profiles, and nothing sold or shared with anyone.
- One exception, and it isn't your content. The text-recognition feature is built on Google ML Kit, which sends Google limited technical diagnostics about how it performs. Your images and the recognised text are not part of that.
- Uninstalling removes everything. All settings live on your device and go with the app.
This policy explains what Office App ("the app", "we") does with information on your device. It is written to describe the app's actual behaviour rather than to reserve rights we do not use.
1Who is responsible
Office App is published on Google Play by Sudoku.games.offline
Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@wifipasswordshow.app.
2What the app accesses on your device
Your documents and folders
The app's purpose is to find, open, and edit documents already on your phone. To list them it reads file names, sizes, dates, and contents of documents in the locations you have allowed. Depending on your Android version and your choices, that means whole-device access, folders you pick, or individual files you open. This reading happens entirely on your device. Nothing is indexed remotely, and no list of your files is transmitted. so this app needs MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission.
Camera
The document scanner uses the camera only while you are on the scanning screen. Captured pages are written to the app's private storage and become a PDF you control. The app does not record video or audio, and does not use the camera in the background.
Photos you choose
When you convert images to a PDF, the app opens Android's system picker. It receives only the specific images you select, and it does not browse your photo library.
Text recognition (OCR)
Recognising text in a page runs on your device. The recognition model ships inside the app, so the image is never sent anywhere for processing, and the extracted text stays on your phone until you choose to copy or share it.
3What the app stores, and where
All app settings are kept in Android's private storage for this app. No copy exists outside your device. This is the complete list:
- Folders and individual files you have granted access to
- Which documents you marked as favourites, and which you opened recently
- Your sort order, chosen language, and whether you have seen the first-run screens
- A count of app launches, used only to decide when to show the "rate this app" prompt
Documents the app creates for you — scans, merged or split PDFs, exported images — are saved to the app's own folder, or to Downloads when you ask for that. They are ordinary files that belong to you.
4What leaves your device
Google ML Kit diagnostics
The text-recognition feature uses Google ML Kit. ML Kit sends Google limited technical information about the feature's operation — for example performance timings, the library version, and basic device details. The images you scan and the text recognised from them are not included, because recognition happens on your device with a model bundled in the app. We do not receive this diagnostic information and cannot access it. It is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.
Things you choose to send
When you use Share, the app hands the selected file to the app you pick — email, messaging, cloud storage, or anything else installed. What happens next is governed by that app's own privacy policy, not this one. The app also opens external links when you tap them, such as the Google Play listing or your email app for feedback.
Other than the ML Kit diagnostics described above, Office App makes no network requests of its own. It has no analytics, no crash-reporting service, and no advertising code.
5What we do not do
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contacts.
- We do not require or offer an account, and there is nothing to sign in to.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not show advertising or share anything with advertising networks.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade any information.
- We do not read your documents for any purpose other than displaying and editing them for you.
6Permissions, and why each one exists
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | "All files access". Lets the app list and open the documents already on your device. Android 11 and later hide other apps' documents without it, so the library would otherwise be empty. You can decline it and pick folders or individual files instead, or revoke it at any time in Settings. |
| CAMERA | Scanning paper documents into PDFs. Used only while the scanner is open. |
| READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | Reading documents on Android 12 and earlier, where this is the mechanism the system provides. |
| WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | Saving files you export on Android 9 and earlier. Not requested on newer versions. |
| INTERNET | Included by the Google ML Kit library for the diagnostics described in section 4. The app itself makes no network requests. |
7Your choices and control
- Withdraw file access in Android Settings → Apps → Office App → Permissions. The app keeps working with folders and files you pick by hand.
- Remove a folder you previously added from within the app at any time.
- Delete everything by uninstalling. All stored settings are removed with the app. Documents you created remain, because they are your files.
There is no data held on our side, so there is no account to close and no deletion request to make.
8Children
Office App is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
9Security
Your documents stay in your device's own storage, protected by Android's app sandbox and your device lock. Where the app writes a temporary working copy — for example when opening a password-protected PDF — that copy is kept in private app storage and deleted when you close the document. The app can add a password to a PDF at your request; that password is used to encrypt the file and is never stored or transmitted.
10Changes to this policy
If the app gains a feature that changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the Google Play release notes.
